Terms of Service
1. Service Description
PromptMeBot (the “Service”, “PromptMeBot”, “we”, “us”) is an informational notification service that alerts residents and drivers of scheduled street cleaning for designated blocks in the US areas the Service covers; you can check an address on promptmebot.com. Reminders are dispatched by email or, if you opt in, by text message.
2. SMS Terms & Conditions (A2P 10DLC Disclosures)
When you opt in to receive text messages from PromptMeBot, the following terms apply:
- Text messages are optional. You can use PromptMeBot, including the paid plans, with email alerts only. Agreeing to receive texts is never a condition of signing up or of any purchase.
- Sender Identity: Messages are sent by PromptMeBot.
- Message Cadence & Frequency: Message frequency varies depending on your subscribed street schedule. You may receive up to 2 alerts per scheduled cleaning event: an alert the night before, and a final reminder before street cleaning starts, overnight street cleaning included. All times are the local time of your subscribed street. Beyond the alerts, you may receive account notices, replies to texts you send, and a one-time code when you verify your number or open your account page from a text.
- Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.
- Opt-Out: You may cancel the SMS service at any time. Text STOP to opt out at any time. Upon texting STOP, we will send a single confirmation message to confirm you have been unsubscribed, after which no further SMS messages will be sent to your number. On a paid plan, STOP (or CANCEL, or any other opt-out word) also ends its automatic renewal: the plan is not paused or extended, continues until the end of its current term, with email alerts if your email address is confirmed and email alerts are on, and then ends without renewing. You are not charged again. We email you a reminder before it ends. Texting START turns text messages back on but does not restart the renewal; to keep the plan, choose Keep my plan on your account page, or in our email, before its term ends. To stop texts and keep your plan, use Turn off text alerts on your account page instead.
- Opting Back In: Past subscribers can text START, YES or UNSTOP to turn text alerts back on.
- Customer Support / Help: For assistance, Text HELP for support or contact support@
promptmebot.com. - Carrier Liability: Carriers (including, but not limited to, T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
3. Informational Aid Disclaimer (Sole Responsibility on Driver)
PromptMeBot is an informational notification aid only. While we strive for maximum accuracy by continuously syncing with official municipal data from each city we cover, street cleaning schedules, holiday exemptions, construction suspensions, and parking regulations are subject to sudden change by local authorities (such as a city's transportation or public works department).
Drivers remain solely responsible for observing posted physical street signage, curb colors, temporary tow-away signs, and all applicable parking laws. PromptMeBot does not guarantee parking availability, does not represent any municipal government agency, and assumes no liability for parking citations, fines, late fees, impoundment, or towing costs incurred by users under any circumstances.
4. Plans, Billing, and One-Click Cancellation
We provide two tiers of service:
- Free Email Tier: Includes email notifications for 1 address, which you can change at any time, with no payment required.
- Paid Tier: two plans, each with automated alerts by email, or by text if you opt in. Basic: $29/year or $4.99/month, an address book of up to 8 saved street sides and alerts for up to 4 at once. Plus: $49/year or $8.99/month, up to 12 saved and alerts for up to 8 at once. You choose which sides get alerts in your account.
Changing plans: You can switch between Basic and Plus, or to our free plan, on your account page. An upgrade to Plus starts on the date shown when you ask, at least seven days later, and you can call it off before then. On that date we charge the prorated difference for the rest of your current term, the amount shown when you asked, and your subscription then renews at the Plus price. Plus does not start unless that charge succeeds. If you sign up for Plus while you have a Basic plan, your Basic plan ends when you pay for Plus, and the part of its current term you haven't used comes off your first Plus payment. Any credit left over goes toward your next payments. A refund then covers your Basic plan's payment for that term as well as your Plus payments, and the 30 days are those of your Basic plan. A switch to Basic keeps Plus until the end of the term you have paid for; your subscription then renews at the Basic price, with alerts for the up to 4 street sides you choose, and your other street sides stay saved. A switch to the free plan keeps your paid plan until the end of the term you have paid for, and nothing is refunded. You are not charged again, and you then have the free plan, with email alerts for the one address you choose. You can change your mind before then on your account page. A refund, under the Alert Guarantee or within 30 days, covers every payment for the current term, including an upgrade's, and within a monthly plan's 30 days every payment made in them. The 30 days run from the term's first payment on an annual plan, and from the first payment of your subscription on a monthly plan. The 30-day refund is once per customer, recognised by payment card or email address; the Alert Guarantee has no such limit. A refund terminates your subscription at once; your alerts continue free by email.
One-Click Passwordless Cancellation: You can cancel your subscription at any time with zero friction. Cancelling ends your paid plan and all your alerts, by text and by email, at the end of the term you have paid for. You are not charged again, and the term is not prorated or refunded. To keep free email alerts instead, switch to the free plan. Every alert we send, by text or by email, includes a secure, one-click management link. You may also text STOP at any time to immediately end SMS alerts, which on a paid plan also stops the plan renewing at the end of its current term (see section 2), or email support@promptmebot.com with your phone number. If we can no longer reach you at all, with no mobile number we can text and an email address that isn't confirmed, your plan also stops renewing at the end of its current term.
The unsubscribe link in our emails stops email alerts. It doesn't stop text alerts, cancel a paid plan or stop emails about your account.
Alert Guarantee: If you receive a street cleaning ticket on your subscribed block while our alerts failed to deliver as scheduled due to our system fault, contact support for an immediate one-click refund of your subscription fee.
5. Marketing Emails
We send marketing emails, such as news about new coverage areas and features, only if you ticked the separate, optional box that asks for them when you signed up or joined our coverage waitlist. Leaving that box unticked changes nothing about your alerts or your plan. Every marketing email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect your street cleaning alerts. We do not send marketing by text message.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to provide accurate phone numbers and email addresses that you own or are lawfully authorized to use. You agree not to abuse, reverse-engineer, automatedly scrape, or overload the service infrastructure.
7. Transfer of These Terms
We may transfer these Terms, and your subscription with them, to a successor that takes over the Service, for example a company formed to operate PromptMeBot, or a buyer of the business. The successor is bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy as they stand, and we will tell you by email if it happens. Your plan, price, renewal date and email choices carry over unchanged. Consent to text messages does not transfer: a successor may text you only if you opt in to its texts yourself. You may cancel at any time, as always. You may not transfer your subscription to someone else.
8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California and the United States, without giving effect to any principles of conflicts of law.
